Why I Don’t Limit Images in My Photography Sessions

One of the most common questions I receive when someone is booking a photography session is:

“How many photos will we receive?”

It’s a completely fair question. Many photographers structure their packages around a specific number of images, and that system works well for a lot of businesses.

When you book a session with me, I’ll always give you an estimate based on the type of session and what I typically deliver so you have a clear expectation going in.

What I don’t do, however, is place a strict cap on the number of images you receive.

Your gallery isn’t limited by a number.

It’s guided by your story.

As a family and portrait photographer based in Lexington, South Carolina, my goal is to capture real moments, real connection, and the little details that make your story unique. Limiting images often means leaving those moments behind — and that’s something I never want to do.

Every Session Tells a Different Story

No two photography sessions are ever the same.

Some families are full of quiet, tender moments. Others are joyful chaos with kids running in every direction. Some couples are soft and romantic, while others are playful and full of laughter.

Every story unfolds differently.

When galleries are limited to a specific number of photos, it assumes every session fits neatly into the same box. But real life — and real relationships — don’t work that way.

By not capping your gallery, I’m able to deliver your story as it naturally unfolds rather than squeezing it into a preset number.

You’re Not Paying for a Number — You’re Paying for the Experience

When you book a photography session with me, you’re not simply paying for a certain number of photos.

You’re investing in the entire experience.

That includes:

• Thoughtful guidance and posing direction during your session

• An experienced eye for light, composition, and emotion

• Careful hand-editing of every image you receive

• A gallery that reflects the full experience of your session

Every image in your gallery is intentionally selected and carefully edited. I never include duplicates, near-identical images, or filler photos just to increase the count.

If a photo makes it into your gallery, it’s because it adds something meaningful to your story.

The In-Between Moments Matter Most

Some of the most meaningful images aren’t the ones where everything is perfectly posed.

They’re the moments in between.

The way your child looks up at you.

The laugh that happens between poses.

The gentle squeeze of a hand.

When galleries are strictly limited, those moments are often the first to be removed. But they’re often the images families treasure the most.

Those small moments are the heart of your story, and they deserve a place in your gallery.
